Whether you use graham crackers to make a homemade pie crust, as a layer in an icebox cake, as the base for s'mores, or simply enjoy eating them as a snack, you likely want to purchase the graham crackers with the best flavor. We’ve done the work to find the best graham crackers on the shelves by having our editors participate in a blind taste test.

How We Tested

We selected seven different brands of graham crackers from a variety of grocery store chains and online retailers.

Each of the seven graham crackers were removed from the box and placed on a plate so editors could taste them without seeing any of the packaging. During the blind taste test, editors ranked each graham cracker on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest. After tasting each graham cracker, they then selected their overall favorite.

The Contenders

  • Benton's Graham Crackers
  • Honey Maid Honey Graham Cracker
  • Favorite Day Honey Graham Crackers
  • Publix Snack Crackers, Honey Graham
  • Great Value Honey Graham Crackers
  • Nabisco Grahams Original Graham Crackers
  • Amazon Happy Belly Honey Graham Crackers

How Each Brand Scored

Benton's Graham Crackers

What testers noticed most about Benton’s Graham Crackers from Aldi was the crisp, crunchy texture. Some testers liked that they were not too sweet, while others said they would prefer a sweeter graham cracker. One editor did choose Benton’s as their favorite, noting its mildly sweet vanilla flavor.

Honey Maid Honey Graham Cracker

Editors noticed this graham cracker was more yellow in color, which made sense when they noted they could taste the buttery flavor. There was also a mix of testers who picked up notes of vanilla, cinnamon, and honey. Overall, the Honey Maid crackers had no shortage of flavor. One editor mentioned that they think this graham cracker would be good for a pie crust.

Favorite Day Honey Graham Crackers

Overall, the Favorite Day Honey Graham Crackers from Target were said to have “nice flavor’ and “good texture.” One tester summed up this graham cracker by saying it has a classic flavor. Another did note that it breaks apart easily, likely making it a good choice if your recipe calls for crushed crackers but not as much if you hope to keep them whole.

Publix Snack Crackers, Honey Graham

With an average rating of a 3, these graham crackers ranked near the middle of the pack. The one thing most testers noted about them is that they were thicker than most of the others in the test. Two testers noted that they had just the right amount of honey flavor, while others would have preferred if they had more flavor and sweetness.

Great Value Honey Graham Crackers

Great Value’s graham crackers scored the lowest in the test. Most editors noted that they were much more bland than the others in the test. Most said it had more of a vanilla flavor than honey or anything else.

Nabisco Grahams Original Graham Crackers

Testers noticed immediately that this graham cracker was the darkest in color of all of the brands in the test. Editors also noticed that it had a softer texture than others. While one tester did choose this one as their overall favorite, most said they would prefer it to have a little more flavor while one noted that they liked that it wasn’t too sweet.

Amazon Happy Belly Honey Graham Crackers

The consensus for Amazon’s graham crackers was that they were thick, crisp, and crunchy. Two testers even noted that this graham cracker would be sturdy and hold up well as the base for a s'more. Most editors said they wished they had a little more flavor, but one chose them as their favorite overall, noting they had the best honey flavor.
