The country star asked people to donate the toys at eight Nashville-area Walmarts from November 1 through December 15. Jelly Roll also gave a free performance at the Antioch Walmart for anyone who brought a toy. "It started with me just thinking I’d pitch in $100,000 or something toward something to get some toys going," Jelly Roll told People. "Then, I talked to my friends at Walmart and they said, ‘We can make this bigger. We can amplify this.'" So many donated that the "Son of a Sinner" musician had 10 pallets of toys and bikes to deliver to the Last Minute Toy Store, a partnership between Highland Park Church and the Davidson County Sheriff's Office that provides Christmas gifts to Nashville’s families in need. Sheriff Daron Hall thanked Jelly Roll on Facebook, saying "Before CMA/Grammy awards and much of his success said he wanted to give back. Today a truck loaded with toys showed up at the The Last Minute Toy Store. You are changing music and lives. Thank you!" Another Facebook post said, "The Last Minute Toy Store needed some gifts for 7,675 kids...Jelly Roll sent over a TRACTOR TRAILER... and DUNKED it." "Love his music and now his heart! Awesome ," added one of many commenters. Jelly Roll is also raising money for at-risk youth until January 31. Those who donate will have a chance to win a new Ford F-150 Raptor, meet Jelly Roll at a concert, or win a guitar with his signature. Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why!
