In honor of the homegrown clothing and lifestyle brand’s 65th anniversary, you can surround yourself with all things Lilly, and enjoy some beach time too. Carmel Brantley Photography Who Was Lilly Pulitzer? The name Lilly Pulitzer is synonymous with summery clothing in vivid colors and wild patterns, but the brand started out of pure practicality. In the mid-1950s, Lillian McKim Pulitzer wanted a loose-fitting, breezy dress in a fabric that would hide stains. (She operated a juice stand with fruit from her family’s orange groves, so she was used to getting citrus all over her clothes.) Her seamstress whipped one up, and to her surprise, this new type of shift dress became the hottest thing to wear in Palm Beach. It not only launched a clothing line still loved and worn by generations today, it created a look that still defines the iconic island town today. The oceanfront suite is decked out with pillows, towels, a beach bag, and bedding in Lilly’s Dandy Lions print, a punchy blue and green pattern of leopards and lions in a leafy jungle (the bedding collection is also available at Pottery Barn). The pop of color and whimsical design feels right at home mixed in with the hotel’s crisp blue and white decor. Special light fixtures and tabletop items, rattan mirrors, and a portrait of the woman herself, create a total immersion into Lilly land. Guests will also have access to all of the resort’s other amenities, including the Eau Spa, private beach access with oceanfront cabanas, free bike rentals, free parking, and access to the property’s restaurants. The suite is currently available through September 8, 2024, just in time for summer. Carmel Brantley Photography 20 Best Beachfront Hotels In Florida Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback!
