You can create a fun, unique space for gatherings with this 618-square-foot outbuilding designed by Bill Holloway and Luke Sippel of Lake + Land Studio, architects of the 2023 Southern Living Idea House in Tennessee. This Southern host's dream offers plenty of natural light and open space. You'll get a true barn look and feel with this build. With the cupola on the roof, exposed beams all around the interior, bi-folding doors on a track, and skylight beams at the top of the interior, this plan incorporates some of the key elements from a traditional barn. Laurey W. Glenn; Stylist: Matthew Gleason Easy Access On the exterior, two large garage doors open for seamless transitions in and out. With easy access to the outdoors and a 313-square-foot side porch, Idea House interior designer Laura Hodges felt it was important to maintain that indoor-outdoor feel. For the 2023 Idea House, she incorporated Summer Classics fabric into her design to continue to bring the outdoors in. "Even if you come in from the pool, you can sit on the furniture and not worry," says Hodges. "We used outdoor fabric from Summer Classics and upholstered the bench cushions." Laurey W. The open space creates the ultimate entertaining center for any happening. "I wanted the space to feel modular and ready for lots of different occasions, said Hodges. "You could move all this furniture out and just have one big open space and your dining space is still built in." Laurey W. The Idea House design features party-ready products from Monogram Hearth, including a pizza oven, beverage fridge, and ice maker.
