If you’re looking for a good excuse to travel, Southwest Airlines has you covered. The airline has just announced that it is bringing back its wildly popular companion pass program that lets one person fly for free.

That means flying for a girls’ trip from, say, Houston to spend a few days in Charleston, Nashville, or West Palm Beach would cost half as much. Saving on airfare means more money to spend on food, drink, shopping, and hotels or to just in keep your pocketbook for your next adventure.

The airline is bringing back the beloved promotion just for a very limited time so if you have a hankering to take a quick trip, jump on this opportunity as soon as possible.

Those interested in getting in on the airline's companion fare should note that it does require signing up for Southwest’s Rapid Rewards loyalty program, if you aren't already a member.

Simply register for the promotion and then purchase a qualifying Southwest flight, which can be either one round trip or two one-way qualifying flights by the end of September 5, 2024. Yes, that’s tomorrow. Then you have to pick a destination and travel by November 20, 2024. Then choose one lucky companion to fly for free on a trip between January 6, 2025, and March 6, 2025. If you have questions or need help signing up, all the details about the promotion can be found here on Southwest Airlines’ website.

While our travel coverage can help you choose a destination across the South, choosing a companion to travel with is up to you.
